CodeCRDT: Observation-Driven Coordination for Multi-Agent LLM Code Generation

Abstract

CodeCRDT replaces explicit inter-agent messaging with observation-driven coordination over a shared convergent state. Agents watch and update CRDT-backed artifacts, which gives lock-free concurrent code generation with deterministic merge behavior and strong eventual consistency. The paper is especially useful because it does not pretend parallelism is free: it reports zero merge failures and full convergence, but also documents when semantic conflict and coordination overhead erase the speedup.
